Sorry you didn’t like it, but it turned out very pretty. I think the round pan looks great. And your hubby’s camera phone takes a very decent photo!!
Well it looks good anyway! And it’s a good thing you had another house to bring it to. :)
I agree. It was a good cake but nothing overly exciting. A good everyday-eat-for-breakfast kind of cake. Love your springform pan shape. Great job!

We didn’t love it either, at least not the plums – the cake was good though.
Your cake is lovely. Sorry it was not your favorite. We loved it, but I don’t think I’ve ever eaten a plum cake.
ich liebe Pflaumenkuchen!!!!!
UNd wieso gewellt?
I love that cake! Yours looks delicious!
Cheers,
rRos
I absolutely loved this cake! Your pictures are pretty nice and it was taken with a cell phone.
No excitement here either! LOL …most thought it was even pretty dry and a bit bland.
Yours on the other hand, seems to be very moist, actually the moistest I’ve seen! As usual, you always succeed at everything you bake!
Wow, I never would have guessed that your photos were taken with a camera phone! Your cake looks great.
no excitement for us, either. oh well, maybe next week!
plum cake
Sorry it was not too exciting for you. Perhaps you will enjoy the creme brulee next week more. :)
It was definitely a plainer cake than I normally make, but I think it was nice in its simplicity. Sometimes, simple is best.
This wasn’t my particular favorite, either…but I think the round pan made yours especially attractive!
Sehr Schoen
Aber der Pflaumenkuchen ist sehr schoen. Keine Kardamom! The cardamom added the only part I liked about the cake. I like the fact that yours is round and not square like the rest of us. – mostly! Looks yummy!
sorry it didn’t wow you, but it looks delicious, and i like the sugar topping idea! :)
Wow… pictures off the cell phone, great job! The cake looks perfect round. Yum!
We weren’t in love with the cake either – but my parents loved it!
Sorry this wasn’t a favorite for you. I used a round pan and liked how it came out. Your cake looks great!
I wonder if they would like it with cherries?
Question about German ingredients
Hello Ulrike!
My daughter has moved to Berlin for a year. She is trying to bake some cookies, and hasn’t been able to locate brown sugar in the German grocery store. Is it available? Or what should she substitute?
thanks
