Diese Woche hat Beth von Our Sweet Life das Rezept von Seite 416 – 417 aus Baking: From My Home to Yours * ausgesucht: Cobbler mit gemischten Beeren.
Ein Cobbler ( engl. : Flickschuster ) ist in den USA ein Dessert, bei dem frisches Obst wie Äpfel, Blaubeeren oder Pfirsiche unter einem Ruehrteigdeckel gebacken werden. Der Cobbler wird normalerweise warm und oft mit Vanille Eis serviert. Die Zubereitung ist denkbar einfach, bei der Verwendung von Beeren gelingt das Dessert mit am besten tiefgefrorenen Früchten, die noch nicht einmal aufgetaut werden müssen. Ich hatte noch etwa 325 g Waldbeerenmischung aus dem (L)aden im Tiefkühler, nach meiner Einschätzung genau die richtige Menge für ein halbes Rezept
Waldbeeren Cobbler
Hier mit einer Kugel Fior di Latte Eis serviert. Die Kruste des Cobblers war knusprig und harmonierte gut mit den geschmackvollen Früchten und dem Eis. Unserer Meinung nach war ein Geschmacksboost nicht nötig, im Gegensatz zu einigen anderen TWD-Mitgliedern.

I’m so glad you tried the cobbler, and liked it! It’s one of those great home-style desserts — you can vary it in endless ways and it is always delightful. As you noticed from the comments, those of us who grew up eating cobblers often have very decided preferences about the “best” version. It is good to hear from someone who is eating one for the first time!
I agree with you… less is more in the biscuit crust. All the better to showcase the berries!
