About 2 weeks ago I purchased the book from Dorie Greespan. Morven from Food Art and Random Thoughts chose the recipe from page 250 for the Daring Bakers‘ challenge this month. Today a large part of the Daring Bakers members – meanwhile more than 700 members spread over the whole – serve today
Dorie’s Perfect Party Cake
The sponge mixtur and the buttercream were easy to prepare, but the lack of egg yolks was out of the ordinary for me. I don’t own two 22 cm/9 “ pans so I used my 20 cm/8 “ pans, which resulted in very high cake. The buttercream made the cake very rich. Every now and than we eat rich cakes, but this one didn’t convince us in appearance and taste. But I am glad to complete the task, it is better to see further than the end of my nose.
