Food Fight is a new monthly blog event hosted by Allen from eating out loud. Every month there is a new theme and this month food bloggers are called to share an egg-based recipe! Easter is almost there and that mean eggs and… advocaat. For an advocaat cake you can use a finished product. But you can’t beat home made advoocat to savour. I want to share a tried and tested advocaat recipe. As a food-chemist-to-be my mate and I made it often with surplus egg samples and not denatured, diluted pure alcohol.

Whisk egg yolks with sugar until foamy. Bring cream to a boil, cool down (60 °C) and carefully fold into the foam. Stir in the brandy in fill into bottles. Enjoy.
