This week Beth from Our Sweet Life has chosen the recipe on pages 416 – 417 from Baking: From My Home to Yours * Mixed Berry Cobbler. A cobbler is is a traditional dish in both the United States and the United Kingdom. An American cobbler is a baked, deep-dish fruit dessert topped with a thick biscuit crust sprinkled with sugar. I am unexperienced with cobblers, they are not common in Northern Germany. I served it with a scoop of Fior di Latte Ice Cream. serviert. It was our first cobbler and we all liked it.
I halved the recipe, used about 325 grams of wild berries and baked it for 40 minutes. The crust was crisp and for our palate it didn’t need any sugar on top or some additional flavour. The crust matched well with the flavourful wild berries. We can’t share the opinion of some TWD members.
