This week’s recipe chose Karina from The Floured Apron** from page 32 of Baking: From My Home to Yours*: Apple Cheddar Scones. I like scones, preferably with clotted cream see here, here or here. I also baked Welsh Scones, son no. 2 likes them most since our vacation in Wales two years ago.
The recipe was easy, the dough was very sticky. Instead of worrying with that I used my biggest ice cream scoop and spooned out 12 equal pieces onto the baking sheet.
We liked the combination of apples and hearty cheddar. Dorie recommends a good jam, we think it goes well with apple jelly or enjoy the scones with cheddar cheese on top.
